From his studio near the sea in Oita, he creates porcelain works with carved shinogi patterns and white vessels. Each line is carefully hand-carved, bringing refined forms and gentle shadows, while the clarity of porcelain enhances the dining table.
Since childhood he has been drawn to old tools and was later influenced by his visit to the ruins of Pompeii. These experiences shaped his pursuit of “sincere and attentive making,” a spirit that continues to guide his work today.
