Takayuki Nishi
Takayuki Nishi studied ceramics at the Arita College of Ceramics in Saga and has devoted his work to the beauty of glazes. His signature Shizuku ("droplet") series grew out of his focus on the way glaze flows and drips. No two pieces carry the same glaze expression, and that is what makes them distinctive. Working with the character of porcelain clay, he applies delicate color in a way that keeps each piece both beautiful and practical. Simple yet quietly deep, his work has found many admirers.
