Nobuhiko Oyama/ 小山 乃文彦
After discovering ceramics at university, the artist studied at the Tokoname Municipal Ceramic Research Institute and established a studio in Tokoname in 1996. Using raw clay personally excavated from the earth, the work is characterized by the soft surface of kohiki ware combined with the natural strength and warmth of the clay.
Inspired by a life lived close to nature, each piece gains depth and character with use. Created with the philosophy of reflecting the artist’s true self, the vessels are meant to be enjoyed over time, bringing warmth and quiet presence into everyday life.
