Matcha #0 is an original blend created as an everyday matcha, designed to fit naturally into daily life. In general, the more a matcha is crafted to bring out deep umami and sweetness, the rarer it becomes, and the higher its grade tends to be. However, this is not simply a matter of better or worse quality, but of finding the style of enjoyment best suited to each tea. Matcha #0 offers mellow umami and a clean, gentle astringency. When prepared as usucha, it reveals a well-defined tea character with a clear, refreshing finish.

It also retains its matcha character beautifully in a latte. Because it is made to be enjoyed as usucha as well, its flavor remains present even when combined with milk. The sweetness of the milk softens the cup, while matcha’s gentle bitterness adds balance and a clean finish.

【How to Make an Authentic Matcha Latte】

■ Ingredients (for 1 serving)

・Matcha: 3~4 g
・Hot water (80°C / 176°F): 50 ml
・Milk: 150 ml (such as cow’s milk, soy milk, or oat milk)
・Sugar: to taste

■ Instructions

1. Sift the matcha (preparation)

Because matcha can easily form lumps due to static, it is important to sift it beforehand for a smooth finish. You may sift it just before use, or prepare a larger amount in advance and store it in an airtight container.

2. Prepare a concentrated matcha base

Place the matcha and hot water in a katakuchi matcha bowl, then whisk well with a bamboo whisk until a fine foam forms. Add the sugar afterward.

*If you do not have a bamboo whisk, add the matcha, sugar, and hot water to a cup and mix thoroughly with a whisk until no lumps remain.

3. Add the milk

Pour warm milk into the cup, or pour cold milk over ice in a glass, then add the matcha base from Step 2. Stir gently to combine.

■ Tips for a Better Cup

The texture of the latte changes depending on the amount of foam you create when preparing the matcha base. More foam gives it a light, creamy finish, while less foam allows the tea’s clean character to come through more clearly. Adjust the sweetness and foam to suit your taste.

■ Approximate Number of Servings

・50g: about 15 servings
・250g: about 80 servings
・500g: about 160 servings

Matcha #0 was created not for special occasions, but as a matcha you can naturally reach for in everyday life. It is balanced to be enjoyed both as usucha, with its clean, refreshing character, and with milk, where it takes on a softer, rounder expression. It also works well in baked sweets and desserts such as affogato, making it easy to enjoy in many ways throughout daily life.

【 Notice & Storage Instructions 】

Matcha is sensitive to light, moisture, and odors.
After opening, keep it tightly sealed in a container or pouch and store in a cool, dark place. For the best color and aroma, we recommend using it soon after opening.

For long-term storage before opening, you may refrigerate or freeze it. Please let the package return to room temperature before opening, as condensation can affect the quality.
