Studied ceramics at university and later completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. Began his career as an artist in the 2010s and now works from his studio in Kamakura.


Using yakishime (high-temperature firing without glaze) and slip application, he applies pigments to bisque-fired vessels, repeating the process up to four times before polishing the surface. The result is a metallic texture with patterns reminiscent of stone. The interplay of rugged surfaces and gentle curves gives his work refinement and comfort, and his vessels are widely appreciated for their balance of presence and practicality.
